The Surveyors World Cup 2018

To celebrate the start of the 2018 Russia World Cup, G&T took part in The Surveyors World Cup, hosted by Downwell Group, a 32-team knockout style tournament for businesses across the built environment.

Each team represented a World Cup country as the starting whistle was blown, with G&T sporting the Welsh colours.  The team avoided the ‘Wooden Spoon’ and Plate draws with ease, heading to the knockout stages with three wins and a draw on the scoreboard.

After a well-deserved BBQ break, it was evident that the sun and seized legs had affected G&T’s abilities as they faced hot favourites Paragon Consulting (Saudi Arabia). Despite a credible performance, G&T couldn’t hold on and bowed out of the tournament, missing out on the coveted trophy.

A special mention goes to Ed Critchley and Jack Castle, who were awarded joint Man of the Tournament, accumulating a bounty of goals between them. The event raised over £1,500 for , a charity who provide football-related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children.
